Drunk drivers, fighting highlight weekend for Naperville cops

These are incidents reported by the Naperville Police Department. Where charges have been filed, the report includes when and where the suspect was stopped or taken into custody and the nature of the charges.

Friday, Nov. 14

1 Warrant: Kenneth J. Eterno, 50, 1300 block Branchwood Circle; arrested on a warrant by DuPage County sheriff’s deputies, assisted by Naperville police, in the 1500 block of Bond Street about 2:48 p.m.

2 Simple battery: Police intervened when there was a “problem between two youths” about 3:40 p.m. in the 1500 block of Raymond Drive.

3 Hit and run: A traffic accident at Beebe Drive and West 75th Street about 4:20 p.m. left a 48-year-old woman injured.

4 Theft: Two juveniles were cited for retail theft about 5:24 p.m. in the 2500 block of West 75th Street and released to their parents.

5 Driving under the influence: Timothy W. Milet, 43, 3300 block Tussell Court; charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic signal and changing lanes without signaling about 8:52 p.m. near 95th Street and Cedar Glade Drive.

6 DUI: Joe N. Oglesby, 36, Woodridge; charged about 10:12 p.m. with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, texting while driving, improper lane usage and failure to notify damage to an unattended vehicle in the first block of East Chicago Avenue.

Saturday, Nov. 15

7 DUI: David J. Halverson, 46, 1300 block Neskola Court; charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving an uninsured vehicle, expired registration and failure to reduce speed/driving too fast to avoid an accident about 12:17 a.m. in the first block of East 75th Street.

8 Property damage: The front passenger window of a car in the 1500 block of Aurora Avenue was broken by unknown means about 12:38 a.m.

9 Traffic crash: Ezequiel Torres, whose age and address were not provided, was cited for a right of way violation that led to an accident about 12:52 a.m. near North Aurora Road and Fairway Drive.

10 Battery: Devin D.P. Dildy, 29, Plainfield; charged with two counts of battery, possession of marijuana and resisting a peace officer in the first block of West Chicago Avenue about 1:13 a.m.

11 Marijuana possession: An unidentified person was cited for possession of less than 30 grams of marijuana about 2:17 a.m. in the 4200 block of Garden View Drive.

12 DUI: Jessica L. Sabo, 28, Oak Forest; charged bout 2:27 a.m. with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, driving without valid registration or a rear license plate, and two headlight violations near West Ogden Avenue and Royal St. George Drive.

13 Theft: Artemio J. Gomez, 21, Aurora; charged with retail theft in the 700 block of Fort Hill Drive about 8:28 p.m.

14 DUI: Cristian Bonilla, 29, Chicago; charged with two counts of driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic signal and operating an uninsured vehicle near West 87th Street and South Route 59 about 11:38 p.m.

Sunday, Nov. 16

15 DUI: Jesus Ramirez-Duran, 28, Winfield; charged about 1:54 a.m. with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving on a suspended or revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle and disobeying a traffic signal near Interstate 88 and Route 59.

16 Trespassing: Nanette T. Reszotko, 49, 1300 block of East Chicago Avenue; charged with criminal trespass to a building in the 100 block of East Chicago Avenue about 6:58 a.m.

17 Vehicle damage: Between 7:20 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m., someone damaged a vehicle parked in a lot in the 2800 block of Showplace Drive.

18 DUI: Jeffrey M. Hansen, 33, Aurora; charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, failure to reduce speed/driving too fast for conditions and failure to give aid or inform about 7:32 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue.

19 Property damage: Someone used a fluorescent light bulb to shatter a window panel on the front door of a home in the 1000 block of Elizabeth Avenue about 10:03 p.m.

20 Vehicle damage: Between 5:30 and 11 p.m., someone shattered the front windshield of a vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Larsen Lane.

Monday, Nov. 17

21 Driving without a valid license: Jean J. Sajous, 47, Aurora; charged about 12:51 a.m. with driving on a suspended or revoked license, disobeying a traffic signal and a headlight violation near 75th Street and Ogden Avenue.

22 Failure to yield: An unidentified driver was cited for failure to yield when turning left after a two-vehicle accident near Raymond Drive and Diehl Road bout 6:27 a.m. that injured both drivers.

23 Gun surrender: A resident in the 1100 block of Catalpa Lane surrendered a Remington Fieldmaster Model 121.22 rifle for destruction about 11 a.m.

24 Identity theft: Jose P. Ramirez, 43, Aurora; charged with identity theft about 12:15 p.m. at police headquarters, 1350 Aurora Ave.

25 Forgery: A resident of the 2600 block of Fairhauser Road reported that between Nov. 10 and 5 p.m., he cashed a fictitious check and wired money to the offender.

26 Driving without a valid license: Romas Stanelis, 36, Plainfield; charged with driving on a suspended or revoked license, operating an uninsured vehicle, illegal transportation of liquor and a warrant near 75th Street and Olympus Drive about 5:36 p.m.

27 Battery: A verbal argument between two people in the 1500 block of North Route 59 about 10:41 p.m. culminated in one of the individuals throwing a cigarette at the other.

28 Battery: Edward A. Hermesdorf, 27, Aurora; charged with battery and disorderly conduct near Brookdale Road and Langley Circle about 10:57 p.m.
